Hi Friends!
It’s Katarina here with you again and today I’m bringing some cut file inspiration. There’s also a process video at the end of my post if anyone is interested to watch. My assignment today was to use the negative part of my cut file to create a dimensional layout. Let’s have a look at how I did. My layout features the super beautiful December Kits.

I used the Oakie Bear Blue Shimmerz from the December Color Kit to make a subtle background behind my cut file – the Geo Snowflake designed by Kim Watson. I used the actual cut file as a guide to place all my negative pieces. I foam mounted all the grey ones to achieve a lot of dimension and to make the snowflake shape really stand out. The ones cut from the yellow cardstock lay flat on my background.

I used enamel dots from the December Main Kit for the empty centers of my cut file. I created my title using the black alphabet from the Embellishment Kit and placed in the middle of my layout.
On the left side I created a little scene with houses fussy cut out of a patterned paper and a super cute chipboard snowman resembling the one on my photo.

I placed my photo on the right side, used one of the tags from the Journaling Bits (included in the Main Kit) that I machine stitched around to add a little interest. I continued embellishing my photo with floral die cuts, puffy and chipboard stickers and one of the cute little bows.

To finish off my layout I cut and distressed the edges of my background paper and used the black and white patterned paper and the Powder Blue cardstock to give my page a frame. I machine stitched around it for a little added texture.

And this is my finished layout. Hope it gave you some inspiration today. I am also adding a process video for anyone who’s interested to watch me create this fun layout.
Thank you very much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

When I click on the link for GEO Snowflake I do not get the cut file https://www.hipkitclub.net/december-2020-kim-watson-geo-snowflake
Hi Mel – you will probably need to be logged in to the HKC site and it will show for you only if you’re a subscriber as it is a subscriber cut file. There are also free cut files available for anyone who is registered on the web site.
Hi Katarina, I just stopped my subscription Dec 2020 and I went ahead and downloaded all cut files before my subscription stopped but this was not one of them.
I donwloaded “Best Friends”, “Cozy Winters”, “Jingle Bells” and “Xmas Wreath” for December 2020 but there wasn’t a GEO Snowflake file.
Even for November 2020 I downloaded 24 cut files which included “Snowflake Background” and “Snowflakes” but there wasn’t a Geo Snowflake.
