Hello everyone !
It’s Sophie here and I am sharing a lovely layout today based on this month’s mood board designed by the talented Morag Cutts.
Here is the mood board:
You will see my step-by-step process to build my page. Everything I used here is from the September 2020 Kits.
I immediately was driven by the beautiful rainbow banner of leaves on the top right photo of the mood board, and built my layout based on it.
I started with thick white cardstock and cut the woodgrain part of the Heidi Swapp Old School collection patterned paper named « Weekend Vibes » (Paper Kit) to put on the bottom of my layout.
I added plenty tiny water-colour splatters on the top of my background in a rainbow order where I planned to create a banner.
I selected beautiful leaves from the Pinkfresh Studio Days of Splendor Floral Die Cuts, and also punched out many leaves from the different coloured cardstocks from the September Cardstock Kit with a punch from my stash to create my banner.
I machine stitched in the middle of each leaf with matching thread. I love this little detail on the overall look of the page !
Then, I did a few stitched with white thread directly on the background as a guide for the leaves and create the banner.
I was careful to glue only the middle part of each leaf, bending their edges, to add dimension to the banner. Loooove the result !
My photo is from last year at the Pumpkin Patch. It was such a bright and sunny day !
I backed my photo with tissue paper and adhesive foam, and adhered it, centered, to my page.
I embellished around my photo with a tag from the beautiful Crate Paper Marigold collection (Paper Kit) and floral die cuts from Pinkfresh Studio (Embellishment kit).
I also decided to create a pumpkin myself with cardstock and patterned papers, and stitched the edges. I rarely create such homemade embellishments, but I think I should do it more often ! It was fun and easy !!
Finally, I added my title (American Crafts – Maggie Holmes Marigold – Chipboard Accents from the Embellishment kit) and wrote my journaling with a white pen.
Oh how I love the end-result !

Mood boards are definitely one of my favorite go-to inspirations to get started with a page.
I hope I could inspire you in some way, thanks so much for passing by !
