I participated in a weekly sketch challenge this week using this beautiful prompt from Christina Sales:
My second challenge prompt was to incorporate fussy cutting so I grabbed the pack of papers first and sifted through to choose which ones to cut, there are lots of papers to chose from to fulfil your fussy cutting desires in this months kit! I chose some beautiful floral papers and some of the frame and house elements. I also wanted to pick out the vertical triangles from the sketch so I grabbed the ‘Heidi Swapp City Grid’ paper and cut the squares into triangles.
I prepped one of the cardstock sheets with white acrylic gesso to start my mixed media background.
I used mainly three Lindy’s Magicals that came in a previous kit in the colours – Andreas Azalea, Jana’s Jade and Martinas Marigold. I used the packaging technique and lots of splattering to achieve this!
I then had a play around with the elements I had fussy cut and machine stitched the row of triangles to match that part of the sketch.
I then went through the gorgeous sticker sheet by Jen Hadfield and picked out a few including that super cute little squirrel and his acorn!
I finished off with my title, some other little embellishment pieces including this chipboard flair, some journaling at the top and the date.
