Hey Everyone it’s Michelle here with you today. I really enjoyed creating the layout I’m sharing with you today that I’ve made using only bits and pieces from the June 2020 Main kit for Hip Kit Club. All of the June kits were jam-packed full of EXCLUSIVE HKC designed products and the wonderful ‘Stay at Home’ collection from Pinkfresh Studio, which are perfectly designed to document life moments through this worldwide pandemic.

 

 

I chose the ‘Hope for a new day’ paper from Pinkfresh Studio for the base of this layout as I had a certain idea in my mind that I’m happy worked out just as good as I pictured it. I guess the easiest way to describe what I did was to ‘disassemble’ the rainbow haha.

 

 

I carefully cut each rainbow stripe off the paper including the in-between pieces then roughed up the edges and then adhered them all back in place on some white cardstock, adding the smallest amount of glue to the middle of each piece. By doing this I was able to run the sewing machine through each one then bend the edges up slightly to make them look like they were sitting off the page

 

 

Next I added a photo of myself wearing our newest fashion accessory for work, a face mask. I’ve added a hidden pocket on the back of the photo between the layers of pattern papers to tuck the journalling card into.

 

 

A running joke between a colleague and I is to ensure we can still smile for the camera. We had ourselves in fits of laughter on the day we started wearing masks when we tried taking photos to document the occasion, first words when you normally take a photo ‘smile for the camera’ don’t work when your mouth is covered lol

 

 

The blue floral paper ‘Better things are ahead’ is what I’ve used to back the photo and the cluster of embellishments are from the ‘Lets stay Home’ ephemera pack.

 

 

I used a mix of Pinkfresh Studio ephemera pieces and Puffy alpha stickers and a word strip cut from pattern paper to create my mixed title in the left corner of the page. Our new motto at work is ‘keep smiling’ not just because of the funny running joke we have, but also because if we don’t laugh from all the madness we deal with daily – we may just cry.

 

 

I also added in a couple of lightly stamped Stars using a very faint silver ink pad and the EXCLUSIVE stamps that were in the June 2020 Main Kit.

 

 

Well thats all from me today. I hope this layout has inspired you to document all of life’s funny and odd moments. Something to put a smile on your face and a way to look back when things eventually settle down. A documented memory of when times were ‘interesting’ but we got through them with laughter.
