Mixed Media Grid Layout | Sophie Delorme

Hello Hip Kit friends !

It’s Sophie with you today and I am so happy to be here ! I am sharing a mixed media layout and I created a very simple page today, playing with textured paste and a stencil !

Main page

Here is my step by step process to create my page.

I started by adhering washi tape on a thick white cardstock to form 4 rectangles.

Then, I applied some textured paste on a stencil. I used one of the Vicki Boutin stencils from the May 2020 color kit.

I removed the washiest tape and let the textured paste dry.

Once completely dry, I added watercolor paint to each rectangle to match my color scheme. I did not use the Stamp Market Ink Pads from the May color kit because I preferred to go with blues and purple-pink for my page. I went for more bold colors on the four center corners of the grid, and faded the colors on the external corners of the grid.

I also did a few watercolor splatters in matching colors around each rectangle.

I put my photo on the right upper corner of the grid. It shows my daughter who created a scrapbooking page for a science project for school. (And as you can see, she was kinda proud about it !!!)

I did not use any patterned paper on my layout. Only embellishments ! They come from  Dear Lizzy, Maggie Holmes, Amy Tangerine and the Stamp Market from the different May 2020 kits (Embellishment kit, Main kit and Pocket Life kit)

Here are a few close-ups.

I hope you like my page and that it inspired you to play with mixed media ! Creating a grid or any other kind of background design with washi tape as a guide is easy and fun !

Thank you for stopping by today, and happy crafting !

Sophie xx
