Hello Hip Kit friends !
It’s Sophie here and I am sharing a beautiful layout for which I did a little step-by-step process to show you how I did my mixed media background.
Everything on this page comes from the May 2020 kits.
I did a very springy and flowery layout with Sabrina, my sweet girl, looking up at our gorgeous tree in our backyard.
So I started by using one of the Vicki Boutin stencils that we got in the May color kit, and applied texture paste with a palette knife on thick white cardstock.
I let it dry, then mixed the Stamp Market Melon Full Size Ink (May color kit) with water and painted some parts of the background with it. I also used a pink ink from my stash to get the color scheme I wanted based on my photo. I added plenty of little splatters of ink with my paint brush.
I teared the upper part of the white cardstock, curled both sides of the teared paper and did a hand stitched cross to fixe them to the page.
I backed the empty space with the beautiful patterned paper no 04 from the Pink Paislee 5th and Monaco collection (May paper kit).
I fussy cut some flowers and leaves out of the Stamp Market Large Floral Paper (May paper kit) and also used some gorgeous Vicki Boutin Let’s Wander Ephemeras (May main kit) to decorate my page. My title comes from a fussy cut word out of a Stamp Market patterned paper (“your”), a Pebbles Phrase Puffy Thickers (“smile”) and an Amy Tangerine Picnic in the Park Ephemera (“love”).
Finally, I added adhesive foam and tissue paper behind my photo, as well as a few layers of patterned paper, wrote down my journaling and stamped the date.
I love how it turned out..! This leafy and dimensional background is beautiful, isn’t it ? These Vicki Boutin Stencils are so fun ! They add that little special look to any layout !
Here are a ton of close-ups.
I really hope that you got inspired by my layout to get a little bit messy and try out this May color kit ! Your page will turnout beautiful for sure !
Thank you for stopping by, I’ll see you very soon !
