Hello Hip Kit friends ! It’s Sophie with you today sharing my step-by-step process in creating my cute layout inspired by this month’s moodboard.
The June moodboard was designed by the lovely Vicki Parker and is just gorgeous ! I was driven by the beautiful window with pink shutters on the left lower image, and started to build my layout around that image.
So here is my general idea. I wanted to create some shutters and a flower box around my photo. I chose a photo of me and my dog relaxing outside after a long week of work.
For my shutters, I cut 6 strips of watercolor paper (3 for each shutter) and painted them with the Stamp Market Melon Full Size Ink Pad from the May 2020 color kit mixed with water, trying to mimic wood.
Then, I cut both extremities of the slats diagonally for more perspective and I adhered them together with the Stamp Market Miss Modern Striped Washi Tape from the May embellishment kit.
My flower box was made out of the American Crafts Begonia Cardstock from the May Cardstock kit. I did some hand stitching around it for more interest..
My background is a beautiful Stamp Market patterned paper from the May paper kit, on which I applied gesso and a few splatters of the Stamp Market Melon ink (Color Kit) and some watercolor from my stash.
I used two beautiful flowers from the Vicki Boutin Ephemera pack (May 2020 main kit) and some fussy cut flowers out of the 5th and Monaco paper #3 (May 2020 paper kit). I also fussy cut plenty of black and white leaves from the 5th and Monaco paper #8 to put around my flowers in my flower box.
My title comes from the Pebbles Phrase Puffy Stickers (May 2020 main kit) and The Amy Tangerine Picnic in the Park Ephemera (May 2020 Pocket Life kit).
I also added a few fussy cut butterflies, some Amy Tangerine Icon Thickers, a Stamp Market tag for my date and many little white enamel dots as the finishing touch.
I am very happy with the result ! I hope you like my page too ! It’s amazing how a moodboard can help take your imagination to the next level !
Here are a few more close-ups.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day !
