Mixed Media Monday | hey sugar | Jana McCarthy

Hi everyone, welcome back to the Hip Kit Club Blog today. I have a new Mixed Media Monday project to share. I am still working with the awesome April 2020 HipKits but i am still loving the colors and all the pretty things inside. I also grabbed a new CutFile that will be available at the Store very soon!

I grabbed the artPhilosophy watercolors honey & blush from the April Color Kit and a HKC plastic bag for creating my background. I added some of the watercolors and lots of water to the plastic bag, mixed the colors a bit together and pressed my 12×12 white cardstock on top of it. I really love this technique and i really love how it turned out.

I finished the background with some splatters. The white numbers are looking perfect on top of the bright colors, right? The little cutie on the photo is my little one in the age of five months. That red shirt is matching my colors and i also like how the bright pink title looks next to it…

I placed my picture on two bigger DieCut pieces from the Crate Paper Ephemera Pack and also added that black and white scallop sticker from CartaBella. I did some fussy cutting for the lemons and the hot air balloons from some patterned papers, grabbed some layered butterflies and some other little stickers and the “hey sugar” piece.

I clustered everything very close around my picture and added some foam tape for dimensions. The white numbers are only glued down behind the photo.
I love how it looks.

I finished my layout with lots of matching enamel dots and one enamel heart on top of one of the ballons. I was thinking about my journaling but i couldn´t find the perfect place for it…

You´ll find a process Video for this project up on my personal YouTube Channel… I really hope you´re inspired to create something fun today.
