Hello everyone!
It’s Angela here with you on the blog, today. I am sharing my latest mini album made with the gorgeous April 2020 kits. They finally arrived and I am sooo happy. These kits are totally my jam! So, this is my first project with the kits, a sweet and girly mini album that I will fill in with some of my Summer memories.
At a first glance, the mini is like a box. I made it out of paper Soft Serve from Sweet Story collection by Crate Paper and it measures 12 x 5 inches.
On the front of the cover, I created a few fringes with three colors of card-stocks from April 2020 Card-stock kit and a few chipboards, stickers and die cuts from Main and Embellishments kits. The decoration on the cover is not only made to embellish it. Actually, it is part of a strip that rolls up the mini album and keep it closed. You can better get it from the picture below:
The mini is one inch in depth and has flaps to protect the pages and to avoid them to peek out from the cover. In fact, the pages are hanged to a string, that’s why I called it Hanged Mini Album.
The binding consists of a sting inserted to the back cover. To create it, I made two holes on a second piece of card-stock, I inserted the string and I hid the extremities behind it. Then, I glued the card-stock to the back cover itself.
The pages are mainly journaling cards from a cut apart sheet, specifically from paper Confection of Sweet Story collection. To bind the pages I just punched a hole on top of each one and insert the string in the hole. To obtain the cascade effect, I tied a knot between each page, this way they keep outdistanced and do not fall. Last, for even more fun, I added some ephemera pieces and die cuts between the pages.
That’s all for today, my friend. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you liked the mini album and inspired you to give it a try. If so, I would love to see your version.
Love, NG
