Hi everyone, Anke here with you today. It’s Mixed Media Monday and so I want to share a layout for which I used the gorgeous April Color Kit.

I started with a thin layer of Gesso in the middle of my page. The Prima Art Philosophy Watercolors which are included in the April Color Kit are concentrated. So I mixed them with water and applied them with a paint brush. Once the paint was dry I added a layer of modeling paste using the stencil which is also included in the April Color Kit.

I let the paste dry and then I placed my photos. The photos show our dog Edgar when he was 9 weeks old. I took them in September 2008 when we brought him home from his breeder. He was very sad because he didn’t like being in a car and he missed his parents and siblings. But when he came into our garden and saw this bowl with water, he was the happiest little puppy and started playing with it immediately.

I wanted to create a garden scenery on my page so I fussy cut lots of flowers from the Carta Bella – Summer Market – Summer Day Floral Paper and arranged them around my photos.

For the title I used the summer banner from the Carta Bella – Summer Market cardstock sticker sheet which is included in the April Embellishment Kit.

I adhered it with foam pads to make it stand out a bit.

Then I added some word stickers from the same sticker sheet and the two cute bird stickers from the Crate Paper Maggie Homes Sweet Story Cardstock Stickers pack which is included in the April Pocket Life Kit.

Finally I added one of the Maggie Holmes Sweet Story Layered Butterflies, a butterfly and a bow from the Maggie Holmes Sweet Story Ephemera Pack and some enamel dots. All these embellishments are included in the April Main Kit.

I really love how the layout turned out and I hope you like it too.
