Emilie here and I am so happy to be joining you today to share this layout created with the April 2020 Hip Kits. I think this has to be one of my favourite kit so far!

I was challenged to use the gorgeous Mood Board designed by Angela and I loved working with it! I took the inspiration from the line of pencils and created straws with my patterned papers to have as my base. I glued them down with a hot glue gun to ensure it would be all very secure.

One of the extra challenge I had was to use “mom/ Mother’s Day” theme so I went for a less obvious take on it by making my title about Sophia match the theme but also by explaining in my journalling how proud I am to be her mum.

I felt that the pink of the alphas did not stand out enough on my background so I coloured them with a permanent marker pen. You can easily change the colour of your alphas with pens, Nuvo drops, paint or even embossing powders. The key is to try out techniques!

I love that once my straws were made this was a quick layout to put together as this background added all the colour, texture and volume my page needed!
