Monochromatic Challenge | Lauren Hender

Hello everyone, welcome back to the Hip Kit Club blog. Today I am sharing with you monochromatic layout using the Hip Kit Club January Kits  This layout was lots of fun to put together as it was a combination hand drawing to create my own embellishment and one of my creative loves mixed media.

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

Firstly I began by fussy cutting the light blue parts of the Pink Fresh Studio rainbow paper. As they were all different shapes and sizes I had to play around with them to get them positioned the way I liked them.

I then hand drew a cloud out of white cardstock, cut it out and using a black fine tip pen and added some dashes around the cloud imitating stitching.

The background was fun to put together. Ensuring that my white cardstock had a thick layer of gesso I soaked up a large brissled paint brush with some light blue color and made it drizzle down the page. Of course I had to add some splatters and then over the rainbow I used some white text paste to add some stars.

I then added my photo and some embellishments to complete my layout. I hope this layout has inspired you to create a monochromatic layout. If you have seen the new kits you have to head over to this Hip Kit Club website They are amazing!!!

Happy Scrapping

Lauren xx
