Hi HKC fans, it’s Elsie here with this week’s product focus post. Today I have been challenged to create a layout featuring the Pink Paislee Thickers, glitter washi tape and Pinkfresh Studio tags, which are all included in the January 2020 Pocket Life Kit.
I was first inspired by the gorgeous Pink Paislee thickers. I loved the King and Queen motifs and they reminded me of images you get within a deck of cards, so I decided to create my own playing cards for a fun design element!

I cut down some white cardstock to 3×4 inches, used a punch to round the corners and machine stitched around the edges. I placed the King and Queen in the centre of the cards and in the corners I used the Pinkfresh puffy alphas (from the Pocket Life Kit) to add the ‘Q’, ‘K’ and ‘J’, and the Pink Paislee puffy hearts (from the Embellishment Kit). I think the effect works really well!
I clustered the cards together next to my photo, and I layered a PFS tag behind that because I love the pop of red this added! Obviously I couldn’t resist adding some of the PFS floral die-cuts (Embellishment Kit), and I love how whimsical they made the layout look!
For my title I used the red glitter ‘Lucky’ phrase from the Pink Paislee thickers. And finally, I punched some butterflies out of the silver glitter washi tape. I really don’t mind mixing different coloured glitters together, I think the more glitter the better!
