Moodboard Challenge | Love | Lauren Hender

Hi everyone, welcome back to the Hip Kit Club blog. Today I am sharing with you a layout using the beautiful January 2020 Hip Kits. I was challenged by the team to create a layout inspired by the February Mood Board featured below. February being the month of love I couldn’t help but make a layout of myself and my husband.

The moodboard was designed by the fabulous Amanda-Jayne Baldwin and it is super fun filled with love, color, texture and more, which inspired me.

I began by using the January Colour Kit to free had draw onto white cardstock the large heart and the XOXO. I then fussy cut them and using my sewing machine stitched around the edges.

I then used clear gesso on the blue cardstock called starmist and added a mix of white gesso and the three Lindy’s Stamp Gang magicals products from the January colour kit. I also added a splash of the yellow shimmer vibes from the September 2018 kit (yes, I know I still have it..the bottle is nearly empty though).

I then fussy cut some of the beautiful florals from the Pink fresh Studio patterned paper called Bloom and Grow.  This took a little time but it was worth it.

I then backed my heart in the same blue cardstock and adhered it to the page using foam tape. I then layered up papers behind my photo using a couple of the pocket life cards and adhered it to the heart.

It was then time to embellish and add those finishing touches like my titles being XOXO and ‘Love You’. I added the fussy cut flowers in random spots around the heart to help the heart appear as though it’s elevated from the page.

I hope this layout and moodboard has inspired you to get creative this February, the month of love.
