Hey everyone, it’s Elsie here with this week’s Mixed Media Monday post. I’m using the December 2019 kits to create this layout, and I was also challenged to include circle elements in my design. Let me talk you through this page…
I firstly started with my background. I used the Jana’s Jade Lindy’s paint (from the December Color Kit) to paint my snowy sky. I painted the background in a circular motion, so I could get the gradient from dark to light blue. I think this creates a very ethereal look.
For more interest on the background, I used the HKC exclusive ‘So Frosty’ stencil in the Colour Kit and an ink blender with some matching blue ink (from my stash), to blend in some of the star pattern across the background.
I created a wintery scene for the design of this layout. I used a dark green patterned paper as my hill, and I mainly used the Crate Paper ‘Snowflake’ Chipboard Embellishments (from the Embellishment Kit) to decorate it with cute little houses, trees, a deer and a snowman.
I used one of the die-cut titles from the HKC exclusive ephemera pack (from the Main Kit) as the title for the page. I love this title as it worked perfectly with my photo!
And finally, I jazzed up my wintery sky background with some of the HKC exclusive vellum stars and the small copper puffy sticker stars from Crate Paper, which are both included in the Main Kit.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope I’ve inspired you to get your paints out on your next scrapbook layout!
