Hello scrappy friends!
Angela here.Today I am showing you three cards I made following this week sketch designed by Niki Rowland.
I was challenged to create ,y cards flipping the sketch of 90 degrees each time and here is what I came up with
For my first card, I exactly followed the design. I started creating a background on a Marshmallow card-stock using Catherine Wheel Shimmer Powder by Nuvo. On another piece of Marshmallow card-stock, I made another background using snowflakes stencils and again the Catherine Wheel Shimmer Powder to create the stars.
From it I punched two sizes of star and another one on vellum and overlapped them one on the other. I added another die cut on top and last a piece of wool thread to give a warm feeling to the card.
For the sentiment I used the Pinkfresh Studio Office Hours Puffy Alpha Stickers from August kit. I placed it on a layer of stitched stripes of paper 06 from Truly Grateful collection by Pink Paislee and vellum.
I added a bit of stamping too because stamping is fun! Here I used the Exclusive Stamp Set from September Pocket Life kit.
The design of the second card is the opposite of the previous one. Here I used mainly November kits products. I created the background as before and I added also some stencil stars on top of the colored card.
For making the card different, I played with the star that is the focal point. I created a shaker star using a piece of acetate and some gold sequins. Last, I sealed with the fuse tool. If you don’t have it, you can use the sewing machine and maybe some colored thread.
I stamped a few stars with Archival Ink and as a final touch, I added a piece of white and gold twine I had in my stash.
For last card I flipped the sketch of 90 degrees and decided to change the card size. Instead of a square card, I went for a regular card size.
I stitched two layers of papers on the left and placed two vellum stars on it.
The big sentiment is always from the Hip Kit Club Exclusive Stamp Set of September.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you liked my cards and I invite you to participate to this week Sketch Challenge with your own projects.
Love, Angela
