Hello friends!  It’s Jung here, and today I’m sharing a layout that I created using the December 2019 Hip kits.  I am documenting my toddler’s love of selfies, haha!

I was also challenged to get some inspiration from this month’s mood board:

I was inspired by this mood board because it’s monochromatic with a hint of metallic.  I decided to use the soft pink colors in the December kits, along with the rose gold metallic in the Crate Paper line.

I started off by working on my background.  I used a sheet of pink cardstock, and decided to add a bit of texture with a stencil and some texture paste.  I used a HKC exclusive star stencil that was included in the December Documented kit, but the star stencil in the December color kit would work too.  I also added a bit of splatter, and I created a rose gold to match the Crate Paper metallic color by mixing Jen Hadfield gold mist that was in the DD festive color kit, and the Lindy’s magical powder in Oom Pah Pah Pink from the November color kit.  Once dry, I trimmed a little from each side of the cardstock, and backed it with the pink and white plaid pattern paper.  I added some machine stitching for even more texture.

I  backed my photos with pink pattern paper, and adhered them to the layout with foam squares.  Next, I added a lot of stars.  Most of the stars are fussy cut from the foiled Crate Paper pattern paper that was included in the December Paper Kit.  I also used stars from the HKC exclusive vellum diets, the Crate Paper copper foil thickers, and I pulled just a few stars from the HKC exclusive watercolor diecuts (from the Nov color kit).  To create dimension and interest, I adhered some straight to the cardstock, I adhered others with foam tape, some other by machine stitching, and even a few with staples.

I made sure to leave some space for my title and journaling strips.  I absolutely love the soft pink color in the Crate Paper line!
