Hello everyone and happy new year!
Even if it’s January, I am still working on my December album using my November kits. Usually, one of the last thing I make is the cover. That’s because I’m always afraid to ruin it during my messy creative process. Here is how I the embellished the cover of the Vichi Boutin mixed media album I am using for my December Documented,
I started creating a kind of background on the front cover stamping teeny stars and snowflakes with gold and white embossing powder. The stamp set is from November Pocket Life kit. Then, I added some sequins I had in my stash sewing them directly in the cover. To keep them in place I made a french knot.
For the title I used the white Hip Kit Exclusive Alphabet designed by Kim & Kimberly plus a few embellishments like snowflakes, a banner and the cute candy cane that I placed just on top of letter ‘i’.
Along the side of the album I created a layer of ribbons using the Holiday ribbon by Heidi Swapp, yhe Scalloped Jen Hadfied gold glitter tape and a piece of twine from my stash.
With the Number Stamp Set from the December Documented kit, I stamped the year on the spine of the book. I used Versamark Ink and gold embossing powder from the December Documented Festive Color Kit. It was impossible to have a net embossed stamp, because of the type of fabric. Nevertheless, I really like how it turned out, it’s like a sparkling effect around the numbers.
Of course, I had to lining the inside of the cover because of the stitching and I went for this black and white snowflakes patterned paper. Then, with the back side of the same paper I created a red plaid pocket to hold the calendar of the month.
The little ribbon knot is the one that holds the two Christmas balls of the outside spine.
Here is a view of the completed inside cover. I made the Calendar by myself, creating a grid on my computer. I printed it on regular photocopy paper and then, I adhered it on a light blue card-stock that comes from the November Color Kit.
Voilà, cover done! Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed my today project and feel inspired to create with Hip Kit Club Kits..
Have a gorgeous crafting day! Love, NG.
Wonderful!
