Moodboard inspired layout | Sophie Delorme

Hello everyone ! It’s Sophie here and I am very excited to share with you my first layout created with the November kits !

This is a Moodboard inspired layout. The Moodboard this month was designed by Lauren Hender, and is absolutely awesome !

My attention was immediately drawn to the lower middle pink striped photo and that’s how I started to build my page.

I used some washi tape to create vertical lines for my background.

I mixed the Lindy’s Stamp Gang Oom Pah Pah Pink powder with water on the white cardstock, ruffly painting a pink background with my brush. I added pink splatters, and white splatters with acrylic paint.

I removed the washi tape and got a nice pink striped background just like that photo in the Moodboard.

I trimmed a ¼ inch border around my white cardstock and backed it with the Bazzil Berry Blush Cardstock from the Cardstock kit, stitching around it with white and light blue thread.

I’ve put a few layers of Pocket Life cards behind my photo and also used the backing of a HKC exclusive packaging (little red stars on white background) on the bottom of my page, where you can see my journaling.

Then, it’s just a matter of playing with embellishments !

I added a few christmas trees (main kit) on both sides of my photo, a cute little mouse on the top right corner of the photo (main kit), my title (embellishment kit) and a lovely bow (main kit). I also played with the gorgeous HKC Exclusive Clear Stamp set (Pocket Life kit) to add stars (just like the top left Moodboard photo) and little snowflakes. I doodled a few black dots around the stars as well.

Here are the close-ups ! I went all soft and pink with slight touches of blue and red for this page, and love how it turned out ! It was my first time using washi tape as a mask for my background, and I will surely repeat this process on another page ! It is a very simple way to add interest to a mixed media background !
