Hello Hip Kit Club friends and happy Monday ! It’s Sophie here sharing a mixed media layout featuring the beautiful October kits !
I went all bold, golden yellow, pink and purple colors ! Here is a little step-by step process on how I built this page.
First I wanted to use that gorgeous October color kit that comes with HKC exclusive white cardstock die cuts. I had the idea of putting big bunches of leaves tied together. I sprayed the white leaves from the color kit with the 3 different Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays. I modified the pink ones with some watercolor and used the reverse side because it matched a little bit better my color scheme.
I picked up more leaves from the Acetate Die cuts (Embellishment kit), Vellum Die cuts (main kit) and I fussy cut some out of the gorgeous Paige Evans Truly Grateful paper #23 (main kit). I glued them together in three big clusters as shown here.
Then, I heat embossed a few leaves on a white cardstock using the Photopolymer Clear Stamp leave from the exclusive Stamp set (Embellishment kit) that I stamped beneath where my 3 bunches are going to be. You can hardly see it here, but look at how beautifully it pops up on my mixed media background !
So for that background, I traced around where I decided to put my photo, and used the packaging technique to spread around 2 of the Lindy’s Sprays: Grab a Guy Gold Spray and Sweet Violet Purple Spray. I also added a corally pink watercolor from my stash.
I teared a stripe of the Bazzil Flamingo cardstock (cardstock kit) for the bottom of my page, and two stripes of patterned paper for the top, stitching on them with white thread. I added a big purple bow to my three bunches of leave (Bazzil Velvet Cardstock from cardstock kit) as well as coordinating color thread on each. I think the bows really stand out and tie everything together !
My title comes from the HKC exclusive white cardstock die cuts (color kit).
Finally, I added a few embelishments around my photo and on the bottom of my page, and my journaling.
Ta-dam ! Here are the close-ups. I hope you like my page and feel inspired to get messy with your next background !
Thank you so much for passing by today !
