Hello friends! It’s Jung here, and today, I’m sharing a layout using the September 2019 Hip Kit Club kits. I was challenged to use the Paige Evans 2×2 paper pads, which are included in the Pocket Life kit, and to include stitching on my project.

I’ve used some of Paige’s other 2×2 paper pads on my other projects; I’ve punched different shapes from them, like stars & hearts, and I’ve fussy cut some of the images from them. This time, I wanted to do something a little different. Since I was working with squares, I thought of quilting. I looked up some quilt patterns on Pinterest. I originally wanted to do a chevron pattern, but I ended up making this star pattern. I chose the purple and pink toned papers, and cut them in half diagonally, leaving me with 2 triangles.
Here’s a look at what it looked like while I was trying to decide on a pattern:

Once I decided that this was the pattern I wanted, I chose white cardstock for my background, and added some splatters using some of the pink Lindy’s magical powders from previous color kits. Once dry, I adhered the triangle pieces on the layout, then added machine stitching, just like a quilt.

Next, I added one of the Dear Lizzy frames , and then my photo. For my title, I used “Blessed” from the Paige Evans word stickers. I added to the title with a Dear Lizzy phrase sticker, and a banner from the Paige Evans ephemera. I added machine stitching. here as well.

I embellished my photo with flowers that I fussy cut from a Dear Lizzy pattern paper, Dear floral stickers, and Paige Evans puffy stickers. I also added some light stamping using the HKC exclusive stamp set.

To finish off my layout, I trimmed off the bottom of the white cardstock, and added a strip of Dear Lizzy Pattern paper beneath. I added more machine stitching.

I really hope you are inspired by my layout. If you are have these 2×2 paper pads, I highly recommend checking out quilt patterns for inspiration. You could also trim pattern paper to 2×2 size if you don’t have those paper pads.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
