Hello lovelies, it’s Kate here, better known on Instagram as @kittyk8 and I am here to share my very first project for the Hip Kit Club with you. Today I was challenged to create a mini album that was either back to school or fall themed. Since this is only my second ever mini album I wanted to spice it up and go a bit more nontraditional.
Without further ado, it is my pleasure to share what I like to call my w.i.p. mini album.

The first thing you might notice is that I am yet to include photos. I live in Australia, and I plan to use this particular album for our fall season coming up after the new year. So, decided to make the basic foundation of the album. This way I can finish it by simply adding the photos and journaling and maybe a few extra embellishments when fall finally arrives here in Australia.
I was inspired to make my own leaves to use as the pages. I roughly drew a basic leaf shape and I cut it out and used it as my template to make the rest of the pages.

Once the pages were cut, it was time to embellish. This is my absolute favourite part! Usually I am all for going over the top with my embellishments. However, with the organic shape and small size of my pages I decided to keep things rather simple. My pages mostly consist of a gorgeous black Pretty Little Studio frame from the Indian Summer collection that can be found in the August kits Then I simply made an embellishment cluster using the Pink Paislee Truly Grateful ephemera and floral ephemera.

I made sure to add a bit of dimension to each page using foam squares behind some of the bits and pieces. I felt like a wooden button would make a nice feature in the center of of one of the flowers, so I added one to every page for consistency.

With flowers comes butterflies. I used some butterflies Truly Grateful ephemera and the vellum butterflies are from Vicki Boutin.
Once I am able to finish my mini, I intend to hang it on display on a peg board in my room, but for now these pages are will stay separate awaiting the upcoming fall photos and finishing touches. I can’t wait for fall to arrive in my neck of the woods. I hope I have inspired you to pick up these marvelous kits and make a little mini album of your own. The August Hip Kits have really inspired me to push myself creatively. I can not wait to make more projects and share them with you all soon.

I know right now they may not seem like much at the moment, but I can assure you this is the start of something truly magical…

I hope you enjoyed this look into my mini album, I am so grateful to share it with you. You definitely don’t want to miss these beauties so I suggest grabbing August Kits before they’re all gone.
Thanks so much for joining me, I look forward to sharing with you again very soon.
