Hi everyone, welcome back to the Hip Kit Club blog. Today I was challenged by the team to create a layout using the project life cards, to fussy cut and to customise the white puffy alphabet that came in July’s beautiful kits. When I first read this I thought ‘oh goodness, how am I going to do that’ but as I thought about it the ideas started to flow.
I began by pulling out all the bits and pieces that matched the photo and that coordinated well together. Inspired by Missy Whidden and all her tearing I thought I would give it a go and create some layered interest.
Ticking the using the project life cards I thought I would use some to layer between the tearing and use one as a secondary title.
I then moved onto some fussy cutting and used the beautiful black and white florals to create a beachy tropical feel.
I then finished off with the hardest element of the challenge which was to customise the white puffy alphabet letters. I wanted to creat an ombre effect with some acrylic paint which I found did not work as well as expected but looking back on it now I think it actually looks ok. It’s interesting when we try new things or techniques it can at times take a little time to settle in and for us to enjoy it.
I hope my layout inspires you to try something new and maybe customise some of those beautiful white puffy alpha’s.
