Hello Hip Kit Friends! Martina here with some fun cards including Mixed Media! I am so inspired by all the gorgeousness that came with the May 2019 Hip Kits that I couldn’t decide what kind of technique I’d like to focus on for today..
That’s why you get three totally different cards in this post!
For my first card, I used one of the HKC Exclusive Pocket Life Cards that was included in the May 2019 Pocket Life Kit.
If you’ve seen my latest Video on the HKC Youtube Channel, you’re familiar with the paper I’ve been using to back my cutfile (which is a May 2019 Subscribers Cutfile). I have painted a piece of White Bazzil Cardstock using the Alpine Ice Rose and Afternoon Delight Denim Magical Shakers that were included in the May 2019 Color Kit and totally messed up with folding that paper 🙂
Thats why I am using it now!
To add some little extras onto my card, I have cut one oft the letterboard-ish Simple Stories stickers in parts and arranged the words on top of the balloons.
I have also used one of the HKC Exlusive Fabric Bows to “tie” the stings of the balloons together. To finish the card, I glued some of the Sequins and some Crate Paper “all Heart” hearts onto and next to the balloons (Both included in the May 2019 Embellishment Kit)
For my second card, i have cut the ‘you rock’ freebie cutfile from White Bazzil Cardstock and painted some white Gesso on it.
After its been totally dry, I sprayed some water on the cutfile and started to apply sprinkles of the Magical Shaker Powder. I moved the Pigments by adding more water and finally using a brush.
Tha’s what I ended up with. I really like the texture of the gessoed Bazzil Cardstock with the different shades of yellow!
I used a HKC Exclusive Pocket Life Card to back the coloured Cutfile and glued it onto a piece of Bazzil Starmist Cardstock. Then I just added some of the Simpe Stories and Crate Paper Stickers and some Sequins to finish the card.
For my third card, I used another HKC Exclusive Pocket Life Card as a base. I applied some texture paste through the Echo Park Stencil and let that dry.
After the texture paste has dried, I started to add some sprinkles of the blue Magical Shaker. I started with a tiny bit and sprayed a little water onto it – and repeated this until I liked the result.
(But paid attention on not getting the paper soaking wet!)
That’s what I ended up with:
I really like the patterned paper stripes peeking through the Texture Paste and Macicals.
I used foam pads to glue the freebie HKC Cutfile onto the card and added some white splatters. As last finishing touches, I added a Crate Paper Sticker and some HKC Exclusive Sequins that were included in the May 2019 Embellishment Kit.
And here they are..

I’m totally happy with my cards and hope you enjoyed my little cardmaking process!
Have a wonderful Day!
