Hello everyone ! Sophie with you today sharing a colorful layout using a big Cut File !
I was driven by this gorgeous Flowers & Camera cut file from last March that I did not get the chance to use yet. I started with a little mixed media background on the thick Bazzil white Cardstock from the April 2019 Cardstock kit. I’ve applied some gesso on first, and played with some inks (the bright Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Powders from the April 2019 color kit and two Distress Oxide inks. One from my stash and the other from the November 2017 color kit) using the packaging technique.
Do you see the change of colors on the bottom of my page ? That’s where the inks leak right through the paper because I did not cover this section properly with Gesso… So don’t forget, preparing your surface with gesso will definitely help you to get better results !
I cut the Cut file in a large size on white regular Cardstock and backed it with the beautiful paper collections from the Paige Evans and Shimelle that are in the April 2019 main kit. I added a little bit of watercolor in the center of the camera to give it a subtle effect of shadowing.
I placed a rainbow stripe of paper #3 from the Horizon collection on the left side of my layout that matched beautifully the colors I used on my page, and teared a part of the Cardstock on the upper side of my page to show, again, this paper#3.
I added my title with the exclusive acetate lettres from the main kit, a few more embellishments and my journaling to finish it up.
I am very happy about the end result and hope you like it too ! Looking for inspiration ? You’ll never go wrong with a cut file as your starting point !
Here are the close ups. Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you a beautiful day !
