Mini album full of love for mom | Maija Männistö

Hi everyone, Maija here to share a last minute idea for Mother’s day! Flowers are for sure an essential part of the Mother’s day celebrations and I couldn’t resist a craft filled with flowers!

For the base of my mini album I used the subscriber cut file for April, the easter basket. I cut it out of white card stock from the April card stock kit and added the oh-so-lovely and popular sun burst paper from the Pink Paislee Horizon collection. I love how each side shows you a different set of colors! To make the paper really pop I stitched around each paper with white thread and I love how it makes the basket look even more real, like a weaved basket.

I wanted to fill the basket with flowers and the Horizon collection flowers from the April Embellishment kit were perfect for this! To make the flowers stick up I added them on top of the 3×3 inch card stock pieces. These individual pages fill up the basket beautifully! To make the flowers look more bouquet-like I added the flowers in different places, to make them spread out when put together in the basket.

For the little cards I used photos of myself and my sister and brother as babies with our mom. I recently went through old family photos and was just so in love with these shots that I really wanted to document them. And what would be a better opportunity than mothers day?

To embellish the cards I used several stickers and ephemera pieces from the April Main Kit, Embellishment Kit and Pocket Life Kit.  I love that everything coordinates so great together in the kits! It adds more dimension and personality when you mix and match collections and the Hip Kit Club exclusives especially compliment the papers and other embellishments so well! It’s like the cherry on top!

Watch the video to see all of the cards int the basket!

Thank you for stopping by, have a great weekend! And Happy Mother’s day!
