Happy Wednesday ! Sophie with you today sharing a layout done with the April 2019 kits.
My assignments were to use the beautiful 2×2 paper pads from the Paige Evans Horizon collection that is in the April 2019 Pocket Life Kit and add some interactive elements to my page.
I started a grid design with these cute little squares and aligned them on white Cardstock to make them stand out a bit more. I stitched on all of them with matching thread, but only on one side for two squares, to allow them to be opened to show a little sentiment, picked up from the pads and the thickers sheet.
I adhered the grid to a blue 12×12 cardstock called Bazzil Serenity from the April cardstock kit.
Then, I added embellishments like flowers and leaves, all from the Paige Evans Horizon collection, to get a tone on tone look. I put a little bit of white gesso on the blue cardstock behind my title so that we can see it more clearly.
I also made a big enveloppe behind my photo to put a handmade tag for my journaling, talking to my children about how fortunate I am to be their mom. A hidden tag is always a good way to add more journaling, especially when the feelings involved are more personal.
Because of all the bold colors on my layout and to add a little bit of softness, I printed my photo in black and white.
I’m very happy with the end result ! I truly hope you like it too and that you feel inspired to use those cute 2×2 pads on your layouts !
I wish you all a great crafty day !
Hi Sophie !! Love your layout design. Such an original and clever use of the 2×2’s . I only journal on the back of my layouts because I don’t like how my handwriting looks. But a pocket is brilliant and I must tell you, your handwriting is gorgeous! <3 Kelly Made It
