Stitched Snowflakes | Terhi Koskinen

Hello Hip Kit Club Fans!
Terhi Koskinen here today, thinking about snowflakes, cut files, thread and needles.

I’m always very impressed by the huge amount of cut files over at Hip Kit Club website – and all free for Hip Kit Club Members! This time I wanted to scrapbook this snowy photo of my younger girl and thought about incorporating a snowflake cut file to the layout. Again, Hip Kit Club exclusive cut files saved the day!

The creation process of this layout was quite simple. I used my Silhouette to draw a big snowflake to basic white cardstock. Then I gently applied very thin layer of clear gesso on top, as I knew some mists will be added later. I let it dry and started sticking holes for hand stitching.

While stitching the holes I left about 0,5cm / 1/8″ between each. Then I started to stitch it with blue embroidery thread, and added some sequins from Hip Kit Club December 2018 Kit here and there!

I didn’t want to leave my Silhouette alone yet, so I cut some smaller snowflakes to decorate the page, and lastly cut the title too.

Before adding the embellishments all over the page, I adhered the photo with 3D foam on top of some patterned papers I adhered on top of the white cardstock.
Last phase of the creation process was to add the embellishments and then add some beautiful splashes and drops of mists from December 2018 Color Kit and previous ones as well.

Hope you feel inspired by my page! Just try out to include some fun hand stitching to your next page! And if you do, please come to share your work to Hip Kit Club Group at Facebook!

Thank you for stopping by here today!
