Hello Everyone! This is a week full of firsts to me! And this is my attempt for the Sketch Challenge – Yay!
I really love the sketch that Jana McCarthy created! I’m all about these clusters! I think I’ll use this sketch for a valentines-layout when I’m done with christmas and the (still absolutely gorgeous) December Kits.
As I already mentioned, I really love the clusters around the pictures. But. I’m still in the post-christmas-mode, so I replaced the hearts with some of the beautiful christmas bauble DieCuts. I think they were the perfect match with all the christmas decorations on the picture.
I am usually having a hard time, using more than one picture on a layout. That’s why I have changed these two pictures from the sketch into one.
I still tried to be a bit courageous and didn’t change the picture into a black and white one. (That’s what I usually do when it comes to MixedMedia-ish Layouts..)
I added the two Shimmerz Paints that came with the December Color Kit with the packaging technique and really love the result. The background colors coordinate really well with the picture.
To incoorporate some of the gold accents from the baubles, I have painted some small golden dots onto the backround.
To add some more texture and a bit mote interest, i have sewn the baubles “on”.
Like this they seem to hang on strings.
And – last, but not least – I have switched the title to the left. Just because the “o” fitted SO verv well into that bauble next to the picture.
I hope you liked watching my twists and turns with the sketch!
Have a wonderful day!
