Hey Hip Kit Fans! Niki here today with a layout I’ve made with the December kits. I’m away in Florida on vacation right now visiting family for Christmas and I actually had my kit shipped to my vacation address so I could create while I was here! I’ve used the Main Kit, the Project Life Kit and the Embellishment Kit for today’s layout.

Today’s layout is Moodboard Inspired. You can see the December Moodboard below. I’ve been inspired by the tree decoration, the flowers, the green marbled swatch, the wreath and the colours.

I started off by choosing my background: I went for white with a green border, the green border being inspired by the green marbled swatch. I then cut strips of paper to create the tree.

I arranged the red strips across the layout to represent the tree and then I added hand stitching down the two sides. I added a gold star to the top of the tree. I then fussy cut flowers from one of the papers and used those to embellish the tree.

I added a wreath to the right of my photos and used some of the exclusive letters and ephemera to create my title and embellishments. I also added some phrases using the clear stickers. I also wanted to bring in the woodgrain element from the moodboard which I achieved by using the wooden stars and the woodgrain exclusive letters as well as a woodgrain Project Life card behind my photos.

I’ve also created a process video this one – please forgive my makeshift workstation, I couldn’t fit my photography lights into my suitcase so I’ve had to make do with what I’ve got to work with while I’m away! Enjoy!
