Hello friends and welcome! It’s Jung here, and it’s time for another installment of Sketch Friday. I am using the November 2018 Hip Kits. I am using the Main Kit, the Project Life Kit, and the Color Kit.
Here is the sketch:
When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought it would be perfect for a Traveler’s Notebook spread. Doesn’t it look like 2 halves put together? I have been loving TN spreads recently!
Here is what I came up with:
I was also challenged to include a family gratitude theme in this week’s project. This is my sweet pup Homer. He was my first “baby,” and very much a part of the family. He’s been gone for years now, but he’s still my favorite boy, and I miss him terribly. I am so thankful that I had him in my life! I decided that I needed his photo in my TN!
On the left side, I used 2 of the Shimmerz to add some ink splatters. I created a title using a combination of the Jen Hadfield phrase thickers and the HKC exclusive blue puffy alphas. I also added a phrase sticker from the Heidi Swapp cardstock sticker sheet.
I added a small cluster of embellishments at the top. The pink flag and the heart are from the HKC exclusive ephemera. The little flower is one that I fussy cut from a Jen Hadfield pattern paper.
On the right side, I cut down a piece of Heidi Swapp pattern paper to about 4 3/4 x 8 1/4 in. I matted the photo with a HKC exclusive Project Life card and another Heidi Swapp pattern paper.
I embellished the photo with HKC exclusive ephemera, a Heidi Swapp tag, and a Jen Hadfield wood veneer/ cardstock “thinking of you” frame.
I’m so happy with how things turned out, and I’m so glad that I have my sweet boy’s picture in my TN now. I hope I’ve inspired you to get crafty! Don’t forget to check out the November Hip Kits, and if you’d like to take part in our sketch challenge, visit the HKC Group FB page here!
