Hello friends! It’s Jung here, and today, I’m sharing an all-about-me layout inspired by the October mood board. This is my first project using the October 2018 kits, and I have to say, I am in love! I am using the Main Kit, Project Life Kit, and Embellishment Kit.
Here is the October mood board:
I was inspired by the top middle image. I love the layered look, the torn edges, and the colors. I also like that there was some white space left in the top of the image.
I started off by cutting up some pieces of pattern paper from the kits into various widths, tearing some of the sides. Next, I arranged the pieces of paper how I liked them on white cardstock, making sure to keep the adhesive close to the bottom edge only, as I wanted the tops of the papers to be raised from the cardstock. I added some machine stitching to the paper pieces as well.
Next I added some gold splatters (HS gold color shine) and let it dry.
Then it was time to add my photos. Since I was challenged to make a layout all-about-me, I chose a recent photo of myself and my high school cap and gown photo. My 20 year high school reunion recently passed, and my husband and I couldn’t help but remember our time together in high school. On my layout, I decided to talk about how some things never change, even after 20 years.
Next, I added my title, and some journaling strips that I typed on the computer.
To finish off my layout, I just looked for embellishments that helped compliment my story, keeping in mind the color scheme I wanted to stay with. I really love all the crafty themed embellishments in Paige Evans’ new Whimsical collection!
I am really pleased with how my layout turned out. I really love all the texture and dimension in my project! Without the mood board, I am not sure I would ever have come up with this layout idea!
I hope you like my layout, and I hope I’ve inspired you to dig into your Hip Kits. If you haven’t gotten your hands on the October kits yet, stop by the website and take a look!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
