Hello Hip Kit Club friends!  It’s Jung here, and I hope you are all having a wonderful day!  It’s time for another sketch Friday!  I will be using the Main kit, and Color kit for my layout.  I am also using a September freebie cut file that you can access from the Hip Kit Club website.

Today I’m working with this fabulous sketch by fellow team member Jill:

When I have a sketch assignment, sometimes I follow the sketch pretty closely, other times I take a loose interpretation, and today, I took a few bits and pieces of inspiration for my layout.  I really liked the 3 vertical photos, the layered elements, the journaling strips on the photos, and the pops of yellow.

First I cut the AMAZING cut file on white cardstock using my silhouette.  I backed the letters with the navy blue Pinkfresh Studio papers, and the stars with the yellow Amy Tangerine paper.  I added machine stitching on the stars to help them stand out a bit.

On the double thick white cardstock, I sprayed the Mustard Seed shimmerz directly onto the cardstock, concentrating the spray towards the middle.  I also added some splatters using the same shimmerz.

I added my photos on another piece of white cardstock that I trimmed to about 5 inches wide.  I adhered a piece of the Pinkfresh Studio paper to the middle photo as a mat, and I trimmed the Pinkfresh Studio ephemera frame as an extra border under that photo.

I used foam squares and machine stitching to pull all my elements together.  To finish off my layout, I added some journaling strips, gold asterisks, and a few stamps from the Vicki Boutin stamp set.
