Hey Hip Club fans…do you love sketches + contests? I do & with today being Friday, it means there is a new sketch contest up in our member group. Using this sketch, I created this page using the fabulous brand new July kits, I hope it inspires you get get scrapping on your entry.

The secondary creative prompt for today is “About A Boy’, & the July 2018 kits do not disappoint. I ADORE the acid yellow & blue combination. As you can see this sketch really inspired my overall page design, from the chevrons on the left, to the photo position & cluster on the right, even my title & journaling look like Irit’s original design.

Paper layers under my photos, give dimension & height. I love how the yellow painted strip & the dots finish ground the right edge of the page. Notice how the little cluster helps balance the page design?
Pinkfresh Studio liquid water color shades found in the July color kit, are so vibrant; mixed together they acid up the yellow, helping it match the embellishments better. I used them to add colored splatter on the background.
Cute tag ephemera add punch & interest to the photo cluster. I used them to hand journal a few facts about the photos.
Using the x2 cloud die cuts in the Hip Kit Club Exclusives pack, I made a little mat for the title. The decorative cluster adds weight to this part of the page. Aren’t the white acrylic sentiments just AMAZING! I could have a 100 of those.
