Boy Oh Boy!

Happy Friday everyone!  I love taking my kits and finding the pieces that work together to create great masculine layouts.  The bold inks in the color kit, the black and white patterned papers, and the many shades of blue make this July Kit a great kit to create boy pages with.

I began with a piece of patterned paper as my background and added some gesso and orange ink from Pinkfresh Studio which is is in the color kit. I thought an orange and blue color combo would be perfect for a boy page. Next, I cut out some chevron shapes from the blue patterned paper and had them pointing toward my photo to convey movement.

A strip of black and white paper on the right helps ground the design, and the blue painted strips on the bottom left corner (part of the background paper design) adds a good balance.

The title was easy to create with chipboard, rub one, and washi tape.

Finally, I added some little bits and pieces like die cuts, acrylic shapes, and wood veneer accents.
