Black and White Scrapbook Layout Ideas

Black and white scrapbook layouts make a bold visual statement by using high contrast to draw attention to your photos and embellishments. A monochrome color scheme simplifies your design choices while creating pages that look striking and intentional. You do not need black and white photos to pull off this theme – stamped backgrounds, patterned paper, and bold stickers in B/W can achieve the same effect.

Hello everyone, Jana here with you today. I am so excited to share this Layout with you, just because i really love how it turned out.
My theme for this week, pops of black & white. I am working with the May 2018 HipKits
First i wanted to use b/w photos but my Selphy is not printing them in a good qualitiy (they are more brown/gray/yellow) so i decided to add a lot of black/white stamped circles in the background. I used the Vicki Boutin Stamp and Die Set from the color Kit.

The phictures are showing my little one, playing miniature Golf for the first time. He was pretty sure that he can play that game and that he will win it, for sure… but it was not as easy as he thought and it was not easy. That is why i added the Quote: allow yourself to be a beginner!

The stickers from American Crafts/Creative Devotion are super awesome, i really love the look of brush strokes and painted hearts. I added some of them over the Layout. You´ll find the Stickers in the Main Kit

I really love the Ephemera from Amy Tangerine in the Main Kit. I added two bigger pieces to my title and i love the mix of fonts here. The green Stand Out Sticker from Crate Paper is awesome. I love the green and because of the green in my photos i also added some green splatters to patterned Paper.

The Pretty Little Studio Banner Die Cuts are included in the Project Life Kit and i used two of them. Because of the color from the “HOORAY” one (yellow/green) i´ve added some yellow Enemal Dots… the tiny Rose Gold Alphas from Pink Paislee are one of my favorite things from the Kits (included in the Embellishment Kit)

I also have a process Video for you to watch

Tips for Black and White Scrapbook Pages

  • Use stamped circles or geometric shapes as a black and white background when you do not have B/W photos available.
  • Add small pops of a single accent color like green or yellow to break up the monochrome and draw the eye.
  • Layer brush stroke stickers and painted heart embellishments to add texture and movement to your black and white layout.
  • Mix different fonts in your title using ephemera pieces and alphabet stickers for a playful, eclectic look.
  • Scatter enamel dots or small embellishments in your accent color across the layout to tie everything together.
