Happy Sunday! Today’s a great day to make the most of what remains of your weekend before the new week begins. In that spirit, I’ve created a layout that makes the most of what remains of the March 2018 Hip Kit Club kits before moving on to the April ones.
At the end of a month, the box that contains my kit is usually filled with scraps of patterned paper, leftover pieces from painted backgrounds, sticker sheet remnants, and other odds and ends. It’s kind of a mess at first glance, but it offers up an opportunity to gather bits and pieces from it and work them into a page, as I did here.
I trimmed paper scraps to 1″ squares and ran them through the sewing machine to create three strands. I embellished a few of the squares with the pieces from the kit that I loved, but that, for whatever reason, never made it on to the previous projects that I created.
By finding ways to use all of the elements that I love — even in small and subtle ways — I can better achieve “kit closure” and avoid the guilt that comes with moving on to a new kit without having made the most of the previous one.
