Happy Saturday! Today I am sharing a 9×12 pocket page featuring the pretty and bright cards and embellishments from the January Hip Kits!
As you can see, my family had the good luck of heading to the beach during our winter break and the colors in the January Kits went perfectly with my photos. When I pair up photos with products I always looks for a common color or mood. I’m not wanting to go “matchy-matchy,” but I definitely want them both to compliment each other. For this particular batch of photos I went off of the bright blue of my daughter’s swim suit and the neutral tones of the sand.
Over the past year, I have become more and more reliant on my typewriter as a way to journal. I love the ease of slipping my card into the typewriter and getting my story down quickly. When I am not journaling on a card, I like to decorate them. Sometimes its as simple as stitching a border around the cards or more complicated like I did here with layering diecuts and embellishments.
What are some of your favorite ways to embellish your cards? Aside from stitching and layering, I like to staple and add mist to mine. I always remind myself to keep it simple though, one of the great qualities about this type of memory keeping is that it is a quick and easy way to document memories. Thanks for having me today and I am really looking forward to seeing how you use your PL Kit!

Love how you stitched on the ‘awesome’ card.
