Hello, friends!  Happy Monday, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!  We are kicking things off this week with some lovely Mixed Media inspiration for you all.  Missy, Anna and Lorilei are sharing projects today inspired by the papers designed by the talented Irit Landgraf from the 2017 December Hip Kits.  We hope you enjoy and get lots of ideas!

MISSY

Hey, friends!  Missy here, and I had no problem at all being inspired by Irit’s papers!  They are truly gorgeous.  I decided to do a bit of fussy cutting (okay a lot of fussy cutting!).  I cut some of the pink and yellow watercolor roses and started there.  I chose my photo and started building around it.  I even fussy cut some of the packaging from the Vicki Boutin Die Cuts pack!  It was too pretty not to use.  I mixed in some of the Crate Paper Good Vibes Ephemera as well.  I added some white gesso to the Turquoise Mist cardstock from the Cardstock Kit and then used some different shades of blue and aqua Shimmerz over it.  I used the Vibez Snow Way Man from the Color Kit and blended it with a few other colors from my stash to create the watercolor effect.

I love combining die cuts like this to create depth and dimension.  Look how cute that gold arrow clip is!

I used some Project Life cards under my photo for layers and added a few Vicki Boutin & Crate Paper stickers.  I also did a bit of machine stitching for some added detail.

Here’s a fun tip:  you can cut the Vicki Boutin clips if you don’t want to use them as an actual clip.  I wanted to use the bird as a die cut, so I cut it out!  Very easy to do.

Hello everyone. Irit’s papers are fanatstic. I love this artsy, messy style. I wasn’t able to use them as my December kits are still on their way. I used my November kits and created my own background paper inspired by the Irit’s style. I created a designed that is looking line two presents under the christmas tree. I even used a picture from this year. It think it’s my favourite one and Maja looked really suprised when she unwrapped her gift.

Lorilei

It was so easy to be inspired by Irit’s gorgeous papers in the December 2017 Hip Kit!  I used the Shimmerz Snow Way Man Vibez spray from the December 2017 Color Kit with the Shimmerz Puttin’ on the Glitz Pasteez to make my background.  It was my first time using Pasteez and I love the texture and glitz it adds!  To embellish I used many items from the American Crafts Sweater Weather stickers and added Pinkfresh Studio frames and chipboard to the mix that came in the November 2017 Hip Kits.

Kim Watson’s Printable labels got a lot of use in December!

I used the Shimmerz Hot Mama Creameez from the December 2017 Color Kit mixed with white paint to color a piece of cardstock and then punched circles and snowflakes!
