Happy December Layout | Missy Whidden

Happy Sunday, friends!  Have you gotten your 2017 December Hip Kits yet?  I got mine a few days ago and couldn’t wait to tear into that box!   I created this fun and bright holiday layout using items that aren’t necessarily holiday related.  I was inspired by one of Irit’s gorgeous watercolor patterned papers from the Main Kit.  I used the stars from one of Kim Watson’s cut files…it was from Day 1 of the 12 Days of Giving cut files.  I used some of the Shimmerz from the Color Kit on the background as well as some other Shimmerz from previous Color Kits.  I fussy cut “December” from one of the Project Life cards…it was perfect for my title!

I color matched the watercolor to the stars, and I just love the texture and shades of color.  I added in a few of the Pinkfresh Puffy Star stickers from the Embellishment Kit and lots of the Vicki Boutin Enamel Dots from the Main Kit.

I used one of the Crate Paper die cut frames here under my photo and another cute Vicki Boutin sticker.  I created a cute rainbow of puffy stars right on top of the photo strip.

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

I stitched through the title and added “Happy” which is part of the Crate Paper Good Vibes Thickers pack in the Main Kit.

This was a blast to create!  I hope it gives you some ideas on how to use these kits for a holiday page.  Think outside the box.   You don’t  have to just limit yourself to only red and green if you don’t want to 🙂  Be sure to check out my process video here to see how this all came together!

Have a great week!
