Mixed Media Monday with Bea | Jessica | Anna

Hey, Hip Kit Fans!  It’s Mixed Media Monday, and we have three beautiful projects full of inspiration to share with you. Bea, Jessica, and Anna are here to show you some fun ways to incorporate mixed media techniques into your layouts.  Prepare to be dazzled!

  1. Bea

Hey, friends! BEA here, and I’m excited to be back for Mixed Media Monday.  I used the 2017 October Hip Kits for this page, and I just love how it turned out.  I wanted to keep my design clean and simple so I started by choosing white cardstock as my background.

I trimmed the grey striped Pinkfresh Studio paper and machine stitched to the top of my background. I used the star stencil from the September Color kit with some gold paste and painted gold stars diagonally through the page.

The gold stars and the gold foiled Pikfresh Studio ephemera pieces look so pretty together! For adding more interest to my page, I drew around some stars with a black pen. I arranged some pretty Pinkfresh Studio tags next to my photo and embellished them with stickers and ephemera pieces.

I chose a nice sentiment from the ephemera pack for my title. I can’t resist using the lovely layered hearts from the embellishment kit, I adhered three of them under my title and stitch some ‘hangers’ above them.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

2. Jessica

Hey guys! Are you excited about the upcoming holidays? I am! And one of my favorite things to do is drinking all the hot cocoa in the city, hah! I’m using the gorgeous November kits for the second time for this layout:

November2

The color kit comes with awesome supplies. Distress Oxides and a cute stencil that looks like my favorite sweater – there’s even more included (another distress oxide and white embossing powder) – but I went with just the blue ink and the stencil. So what I did was, I added the blue distress ink onto a non-sticking mat and went in with white acrylic paint, then dabbed over the stencil creating an ombré look; that’s why the color is more intense at some spots.

As you can see, I have three clusters spread across the page, I really like the look of three clusters with repeating elements (like the enamel dots) – but mostly, I wanted to showcase some more embellishments. Did you see that cute cup of cocoa from the exclusive ephemera pack? Look at those cute marshmallows! Okay, here’s another confession: I absolutely dislike marshmallows, but hey, I like the look of it in the cup! So cute!

I used a large chipboard snowflake frame behind my photo – goodness I love how this cluster turned out. I’m always a bit insecure about using frames, because I barely have any pictures that ever fit any of them, so I mainly use them as layering pieces for my layout and it normally works out just fine. The chipboard isn’t as thick as some of the others we know, making it possible to layer even more chipboard on top of each other just like I did with the round snowflake.

I really love paying attention to details lately, as one of my goals was to repeat certain elements, I tried to be creative in the way the embellishments show up.

I really hope you enjoyed my post! Enjoy your upcoming holidays,

Hello everyone. It’s my turn to add little something to the Mixed Media Monday 🙂 I made funny and messy page with me as a crazy Santa 🙂

November kits are so great. I love this fresh combination of red, blue and green and funny designs. I am not a fan of vintage christmas collections so those kits are just perfect for me.

I combined blue and red by connecting light mixed media background with red paper from “Falala” collection. Blue mist from one of the previous Color kits was a perfect match. I also backed the photos with pink and red papers from Main Kit.

This page didn’t need much of embellishments. I added few elements from exclusive ephemera pack designed by Kim Watson. Oh my. This one is filled with such a pretty stuff. I also added exclusive leatherette stickers and wooden buttons. I mixed it with Pinkresh Studio “December days” puffy stickers and “Sweather weather” stickers from Project Life Kit.

Title is a mix of two alpha sets: golden one from Project Life Kit and white with little black dots from Embellishment Kit.

I also have a process video for you.

Thank you for stopping by.
