Hello Hip Kit Club friends. Are you in love with fall as much as I am? I take a lot of walks in the mornings whenever I have the chance – I live right between two beautiful parks and a field, nature is always nearby. This is especially nice considering it’s still a town close to the big skyscraper city Frankfurt – it never gives me the feeling of being too far away from rural and urban lifestyle. I love where I live, and my favorite season makes everything so much more beautiful. I am using the Hip Kit Club October kits for this memory keeping layout:
It was such a beautiful morning. Do you like foggy mornings as well? The crisp air, the crunchy leaves, nature dyed in a mysterious orange-silver haze, the silence, the freshness. It’s very inviting to reflect on one’s own life as everything around us dies and prepares for a new begininng. Oh, the philosophizing when fall is around, I can’t help it! Let’s get back to the layout.
I used a large picture and let it be the original size for once – usually I scale them down to half the size or even smaller, big pictures sometimes overwhelm me, even on a large surface such as the 12″ size cardstock. Do you use large pictures a lot? I definitely think I should do this more often – sometimes a picture is too beautiful to be scaled down. That’s exactly why I decided not to make this one smaller. I wanted to see the beautiful nature – the fog and the colors.
I used several different strips in various sizes of the patterned papers. However, I felt like they were too bright for the picture and were taking away the attention from it – so I grabbed a 12″ size sheet of vellum that I got from a previous Hip Kit, this sort of reflects the fog as well when it comes to the theme, after all, it also drapes a coat over the original colors that nature gives us. A lot of thinking going on this time, huh?
I used up a whole bunch of the gorgeous golden alpha stickers – aren’t they just awesome? I am absolutely in love with them. A large title is very rare for me to do – but I wanted to reflect the golden foggy autumn morning with those thickers, and a large title was just perfect for this “mission”. To bring in some more autumn colors, I picked up the puffy alpha stickers from Pinkfresh Studio (Escape the Ordinary) and added them in almost the same way they came on the sticker sheet – I thought this looked really cool and I didn’t want to break the arrangement.
I also adored the colorful leaves from the chipboard sticker sheet – and on previous layouts I’ve been trying like crazy to use them but they never really matched anything I created, so I had to wait. Now it feels like they received the spotlight they deserved, because they’re truly a gorgeous element to work with. This layout was super easy to make and complete – and I barely needed any other embellishments because I focused on the bigger picture and the other elements that I felt were telling the story.
Thanks for joining me today, have a great autumn time!
This is fabulous!
