Off the page: Halloween/Fall card & gift tag | Jung

Hello Hip Kit Club fans and Welcome!  It’s Jung here today to share with you a Halloween/ Fall card and gift tag that I made using the October 2017 Main Kit.

The off the page theme this week is Halloween.  I was really inspired by this month’s Leaf cut file designed by Kim Watson, so I decided to highlight them in my projects this week.  I made a card and a gift tag that could work for both Halloween and fall.

I used my silhouette to cut the leaves on white cardstock.  I cut it a couple of times in different sizes for variation.  I backed a bunch of leaves with the Dear Lizzy Stargazer Make a Wish paper (both sides), and the Hip Kit Club exclusive Autumn Breeze Favorite Flannel Paper.  I love how thick the Hip Kit Club paper is!

For the background of my card, I used some papers from the Pinkfresh Studio Escape the Ordinary collection, and adhered it to a white card base.  I added 3 of the cut file leaves.  I liked the way some of the leaves looked without pattern paper, and I made sure to attach it only in the middle so I can flip up the edges.  I added the rubber sentiment, and a strip of white cardstock with the date.  With just a few added details, like the Pinkfresh Studio stars, stitching, and gold splatter, I was able to finish my card.  I found the gold polkadot paper gift bag in my stash, and I thought it would be cool to use it as an envelope.  It is the perfect size, and I have a little room to slip in a fun size candy!

I loved the leaves so much, I decided to adhere 3 together with some twine, and attach it to a box of chocolate candy.  Even individually, they would make great gift tags, but together, I really think it jazzes up the candy box!  (Bonus: I still have more leaves left over for future projects!)

I also think that the leaves would make cute table setting cards for Thanksgiving.  If my family was fancy, I would totally do that, but we’re not!  We use paper plates and plastic forks when we have a get together…ha!

That’s it for me today!  I hope I have inspired you to get out your silhouette machine, and create some fall projects!  Don’t forget to check out the October 2017 Hip Kits!  Thanks for stopping by!
