Hello friends! I am creating with the October Hip Kits — and loving every minute of it! I absolutely love the Shimmerz products in the October Color Kit and the 12×12 watercolor paper is dreamy to work with. Here is the project I came up with this week:
I started with the watercolor paper and a torn strip of the HKC exclusive Autumn Breeze- Favorite Flannel patterned paper by Kimberly Hutchison. Then, I used the Shimmerz Vibes Mango Tango that came in the Color Kit and I sprayed the giant “Today”. I am completely in love with these giant words by Dear Lizzy that are in our October Embellishment Kit. I used the Old Yeller Inklings watercolor by Shimmerz (also from the Color Kit) to add gorgeous, golden yellow behind my photo and splatters all around.
I also used one of the cut files for this project! I love the gorgeous flowers that Jessica made — they are perfect for this kit!

Hello Hip Kit friends! I’m working with the gorgeous October kits already – and if you’re as mixed media crazy as me, I would definitely advise you to take a look at the color kit this month! It contains 12″ watercolor. Not only is this size extremely hard to come by, usually it comes in pads that are quite pricy, but Kimberly’s got you covered! Here’s what I created using said watercolor paper and the colors in the kit:
As you can see, I created a whole different color scheme than what is originally planned for the October kits – that’s where your kit becomes an investment for limitless options! Just pull out your colors and use the embellishments – there will always be some – to enhance YOUR color scheme!
This is what my watercolor background looked like before I added all of my embellishments. I used all of the colors from the color kit, but added watercolors from my own stash, too. I love the fact that the shimmerz Old Yeller Inklingz is the shiniest gold of all time – this creates a nice effect on my page. For my background I also added white texture paste onto the star stencil from last month’s color kit!
I am IN LOVE with the Dear Lizzy Star Gazer huge titles – they are simply awesome. And they already are a big embellishment – the page didn’t need much more other than a few more stars from the Pinkfresh Studio (Escape the ordinary) ephemera pack and puffy sticker sheet.

Hello everyone. Today I want to share with you a fun project created with cute cut file designed by Kim Watson. It’s a little fox, that reminds me of boho designs and I wanted to go that way with my project.
I had a perfect picture that coordinates with the foxy cut file. As it’s a Mixed Media Monday on the blog today, I created a mixed media background using fantastic watercolor paper and Shimmerz products from October Color Kit.
I fussy cut some flowers from beautiful Jen Hadfield paper, that is included in the October Main Kit. I also created a title with exclusive alpha set from that kit.
When you use such a big cut file you don’t have to add much to the page. After all you don’t want to cover this cute fox, right? Few little stars and arrows here and there are more than enough. Pinkfresh Studio “Escape the ordinary” collection is a perfect match with my orange fox.
