Hello All and welcome to another mixed media Monday with Terhi Koskinen, Jana McCarthy and Bea Valint!
Hey there, Terhi Koskinen here starting the fun today! With a great pleasure of using September Color Kit, I created this fun starry layout of my little horse rider.
The star stencil in September Color Kit is very versatile, I already thought some Holiday themed layouts and why not mixed media cards too. But, as the Pink Paislee star paper from the September Main Kit screamed to be cut, I decided to go with my first plan and create a layout with stars everywhere.
There’s a mix of gel medium and golden mica powder spread through the stencil on the background. It might look a little invisible here in these shots, but in real life it shimmers so beautifully. Now take a look to a process video below, then hop into Jana’s gorgeous project.
Thank you for stopping by, Terhi xx
JANA’s inspiration:
Hi everyone, Jana here with my Mixed Media Layout… and as you can see we all love stars! I also worked with the Septmeber Kits and the Star Stencil from the Color Kit
The Kits are full with awesome things, because of the Photo i grabbed brown, green and blue Papers and Elements. The photo shows my oldest one a few days after his wisdom teeth surgery, his face was swollen and he thought he looks like a Hamster. I think he looks hilarious!
I used my favorite texture Paste for the Stencil and some Shimmerzpaint sprays (from previous Color Kits) to get a nice mixed media background. I really love how it turned out! The neutral colors from the paper strips and the tangled thread adds a nice touch too
The Turn the Page Sticker Book (included in the Project Life Kit) has some awesome phrases in it. They are clear stickers and i wanted to add it on top of the photo, so i sticked it on to white cardstock. Love the rose gold color so much
Here is my process Video for you to watch and now have a look onto Bea´s awesome Page
BEA’s inspiration:
Hello everyone! It’s Bea here with a new mixed media inspiration using the lovely September kits. These kits are jam-packed with gorgeous Pink Paislee-Paige Taylor Evans- Turn the page collection, perfect for creating colorful layouts!
I started my layout with fussy cutting a bunch of stars out of the Turn the page / Paper 19 and cut additional stars using my Silhouette Cameo out of patterned papers. I chose a white cardstock as my background, trimmed the edges and placed the Turn the page / Paper 5 behind. This pretty mint colored paper added a nice frame to my page.
I arranged the stars around my page, adhered them using double-sided foam tape for adding dimension. I cut some star frames with my cameo using watercolor paper, painted them with watercolor, and placed them among the stars too. I pulled out the mists and the star stencil from the color kit and painted some tiny stars in the middle of the circle.
I trimmed my photo into a star shape and adhered to the right bottom corner. I embellished my page with cardstock stickers and sequences and added my title using the exclusive alpha stickers and a Turn the page ephemera piece.
Thanks for stopping by! Bea
