Making It Work with Elsie, Ashley & Lorilei

This week we had the fun assignment to work with the Crate Paper Interactive Journal Cards and the Pink Paislee – Turn the Page Sticker Book from the September 2017 Project Life Hip Kit!

Lorilei

I was excited for the assignment this week!  I love the Crate Paper Journal Cards with their unique interactive elements and scrumptious colors!  I had recently taken a now and then photo of my daughter and thought they would be the perfect fit!  My first step was to cut up the Crate Paper Label paper from the September Paper Kit and add stickers from the Turn the Page Sticker book to the labels.  I tucked the labels into the CP pockets for a fun little find when someone is looking at the layout.  I lightly added some paint and gold splatters to the background to soften all the square edges.  I typed my journaling onto the exclusive project life cards designed by Kimberly Hutchinson.

The mint card has a large opening at the top.  I tucked in another journal card with a few labels.  I decided to add my photo on top of the pocket.

The pretty yellow card has a gorgeous tag tucked into it, I added labels and a journal card from the Turn the Page Journaling Spot pack in the September 2017 Embellishment kit.  For my Now & Then titles I used the gorgeous gold Hip Kit Exclusive Alpha!

Hey y’all! I’m so excited to share a fun Memory Planner spread with you all. I just love the September 2017 kits! As Lorilei mentioned, we are focusing on two of the products from our kits: The Maggie Holmes “Carousel” journaling cards, along with the Paige Evans “Turn the Page” sticker book, by Pink Paislee.

I started by placing my photos around the planner spread. Then, I immediately grabbed the Paige Evans (Pink Paislee) sticker book and began adding lots of the clear stickers all around the page. I particularly love all of the inspiring quotes!

For the journaling piece, I simply deconstructed one of the journaling cards and added the pocket (with adhesive) to my page. Then, I added a touch of journaling and tucked the tag right inside my pocket.

Also, from the Embellishment Kit, I the butterfly stamp in a few different areas!

I love the way this came out and I hope you do too!

Hey HKC fans! For my project today, I’ve gone monochromatic!

I was inspired by two of the gorgeous cards from the Crate Paper Carousel collection: the swan and the carousel. They both have a pink paper as their base, but I decided to fussy-cut them out so I could use them as embellishments on my page.

I used pink cardstock from the cardstock kit as my background and did a little bit of mixed media work on it. I used the infamous ‘packaging technique’ using some pink Shimmerz shades from this month and last month’s colour kits for even more pink! I also put some modelling paste through the star stencil from this month’s colour kit.

To embellish my page, I pulled out every single pink embellishment I could find! But rather than exclusively using pinks which matched the exact shade of my background, I gave myself permission to use some of the peach and pinky-red colours from the kits.

I love the Pink Paislee sticker book, and the clear stickers in the pack were the perfect finishing touches to scatter around my page. I especially love the gold foil stickers and the way the pink butterfly looks on the pink background!

Thanks for joining us today! We hope you’ve been inspired to use the Crate Paper journal cards and Pink Paislee sticker book in your next projects!
