Sketch Friday | Jessica & Jana

Hello Hip Kit Club friends! It’s sketch Friday – this means that you’ll find a sketch below and several interpretations from the HKC Design Team members. Today you’ll see Jessica’s and Jana’s interpretation here on the blog – but don’t forget to check out the Member Forum on Facebook to see what Tanya, Ashley, and Anna have created! You’ll also find great inspiration from Terhi on the official Facebook page.

We all followed this scrap-tastic sketch by Jana:

Sketches are a wonderful tool to help a layout’s design in case you need a little assistance in terms of building a page – but not only that: sketches help you change things up a little and interpret somebody else’s idea. This will make room for your own creative process – and it’s almost always guaranteed that it will look amazing in the end. A great way to get motivated and confident! So try out a sketch here and then – you won’t regret it.

I used the September kits for the first time – they are downright amazing to work with. I’ve already created all layouts in advance because Kimberly always makes it so easy to use up the kits without second guessing yourself.

The kits are fulllll of cute little stars. This was perfect for our purrfect new friend Salem here, we just recently bought a new kitten and of course he’s the new star. By the way, because I couldn’t make up my mind as to what to use for the layering: I used a large piece of the cut apart sheet paper by Pink Paislee – I love how the different patterns peek through and basically took away my multi-layering job.

I am in love with tiny alphabets. Yes, I always think I won’t use it much – and I end up using it alllll the time whenever one is included in the kits. Also, my love for pre-written titles continues (to all eternity, I suspect). But can you blame me? Look at the colors of the “Superhero” font! And then! Look at the font! Purrfect-errr perfect!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my post, see Jana’s pretty interpretation below!

Hi everyone, Jana here with my Version of my own Sketch! I really love to work with Sketches, but i also love to change them! Just a bit 😉

This is my first Layout with the September 2017 Kits and oh WOW, they are awesome! The first Layout is always (!!!!!) the hardest, it´s nearly impossible to pick and choose…
My biggest inspiration piece from the Sketch are the Stars! I started with some handstichted stars on the white cardstock, i picked white thread because i had no Idea what colors i wanted to use…

This little crazy one is my youngest child. He will be eight in october and i can´t believe how fast time is flying! I used one of the “turn the page” pattern papers for my crooked stars (the little one helped me with cutting out the stencil – so i am working with this perfect little star shape, of course!!)

I also added a lot of Machine stitching to my stars and used my scissors to get some distressed edges! Love how that looks! I used only 3D foam Tape to get a lot of dimension here!
The cute stamp set from “Turn the Page” is awesome, there is this little “stitched” star and i needed to add some… the foam thicker glitter words are gorgeous!!! Love the color and the glitter! Both are inlcuded in the Embellishment Kit
