Hey there everyone in Hip Kit land! Today is Friday which means it is time for some sketch inspiration for you. There are two of us here today with our inspiration for you, Corrie and Marinette.

CORRIE

Hi everyone! Corrie here! I am so excited to be sharing my first page with you all using the fabulous August 2017 Hip Kits.

I love, love, love the colors in the August 2017 kits. Pink is my favorite color to scrapbook with and blue is my favorite color of all time. I just don’t think there is a better combination.

Here is the sketch that is the inspiration this week. You can use this sketch as well and upload your layout to the FB Member Forum for a chance to win $10 to the Hip Kit store. You can use your Hip Kits OR you can just use your stash. Either way, this is a fun challenge and I hope you play along!

I started out with this “filled with joy” heart from the Carousel Ephemera package. I actually used it as a template to cut out a bunch of hearts. Triangles are harder for me to work with, but a heart is practically a triangle (right?) and I love working with those!

The Carousel papers are all so beautiful, I think I used just about every one in the kit for a different heart.

And because I was documenting a birthday party, the exclusive Pink & Gold Foil Puffy Alphabet stickers from the August 2017 Embellishment kit were a must! They really add a party vibe!

I finished this party page up with a little stitching to make sure my letters stay down, some puffy stickers and exclusive wood buttons from the main kit sprinkled around my journaling.

I hope this inspires you all to play along with this week’s sketch challenge and to bust into those beautiful August 2017 kits!

Hi scrappy friends, Marinette here to share with you a Traveler’s Notebook layout based on Terhi’s sketch ::

I used the August 2017 main kit only. I started by creating layers all around my photo. Then I cut some triangles in a patterned paper. As you can see, I used some of the gorgeous HKC exclusive wood buttons! They are soooo cute ♥

On the left page I do the same by creating layers all around my photo. The finishing touch for me is always to add some little embellishements. So I added some little flowers from the HKC exclusive thickers included in the main kit.
