Hey everybody, it’s Jessica with you today. Since it’s mixed media week, I’m sure you’ve had great inspiration already. I love using colors on my projects, mainly because I’ve been working with colors for a lot longer than I’ve been scrapbooking, which is why I’m not scared to use them. I, however, have come to know that some of you are a little timid and overwhelmed to start using paints and whatnot, so I suggest taking the small step by using only a little bit of color like I’ve done on this layout:
I decided to focus on the Project Life Kit. All you need to do is cut out a circle and center it and add the splatters around the circle, which will serve as a mask. As you can see, all I did was adding little splatters for which I used the gorgeous Prima Marketing Tropicals watercolor set that we got in the color add on for the month of may. You can then, once your color is dry, take off the circle mask and continue to build your wreath using some embellishments and whatnot. I used the Shimelle stickers that we got in the sticker booklet – it just screamed to be built into a wreath. I also used the cute enamel dots from the Dear Lizzy embellishment pack, they’re so unique and glossy!
By the way, are you usually using the AC white cardstock? The cardstock add on for the month of May contains white cardstock that is actually a brilliant white! I was so surprised when I held it in my hands! I definitely need to get 100000 more sheets of it!
I built a title cluster using the Shimelle ephemera that comes in the Project Life add on – I really like the fact that we get some shades of purple in it, they’re so rare to find! Then again, some companies have been picking up this color lately, I think that’s a nice alternative for once. I’m not a huge purple-lover, but some bits and pieces here and then really make a page pop.
