Happy Saturday everyone!
I hope you’re all doing well this weekend! I’m so happy to be bringing you 2 projects, using the Prima Watercolors, along with other elements from the May 2017 Hip Kits!
I started with a Project Life spread. This week, we’re focusing on mixed media, and today in particular, I am focusing on the graphic look. when I think of “graphics,” I think of design and the abstract look.
I started with a few cut-to-size pieces of watercolor paper. I used my Prima Confection Watercolors to create a super fun and simple look.
I used the Crate Paper “Oasis” alpha stamp to create both a title card and a DIY project life card. Make sure to use a waterproof ink when you’re stamping on top of any project containing water-based supplies.
I used tons of the Shimelle “Little by Little” stickers and ephemera pieces around the spread.
Lastly, I added some of the HKC Exclusive wood veneer words, along with some enamel dots.
I hope y’all love the outcome!
For my scrapbook layout, I wanted to use as much of the HKC Exclusive ephemera as possible. I started with a lined background (to play on the “graphic” side) and a photo of my daughter. I started adding ephemera around the photo, and realized that I wanted to layer the pieces right on top of one another.
I had the idea to use the locks and keys on a string and simply stapled it on to the page. I love this look and rarely use string, so this was a fun addition!
For the mixed media portion, I added some of the watercolors as sprinkles. I’m not a huge mixed media person, but I think added some simple sprinkles can complete a page. Plus, you don’t have to use watercolors as they’re intended; you can totally use them any way you want on a page.
Lastly, I used some of the HKC Exclusive alphas for the title, and added the last portion of the title using the stamp set.
This is one of my favorite layouts with the May kits!!
Don’t forget to check out my process video!
I hope y’all have a wonderful rest of the weekend!!
XOXO
